2008 FAIR BOOKS ARE HERE!
Please pick one up at your local bank or in our office. Remember, it is very important that every entry has the entry card filled out completely (especially livestock) . You will need to fill out the Department (which is a letter) Section (which is the Division number in the fair book ) and the Class number. It is important that you fill out all three of these blanks on the exhibitor card or we cannot enter your entry on the computer and it will affect your premium check. Again this year, you can only enter three exhibits per class, unless otherwise stated in the fair book.
STATE FAIR BOOK ON THE WEB!!
The NE State Fair book is on the web at 4h.unl.edu. There will be no books printed this year. We will print off project areas if you do not have internet access.
LIVESTOCK NEWS
COUNTY FAIR 4-H LIVESTOCK JUDGES
Horse: Christy Treffer, Lexington
Small Animal: Dennis Riemersma, Red Cloud
Sheep: Jerry Suderman, Hillsboro, KS
Dairy: Steve Wolf, Kearney
Beef: Matt Ellicott, Waverly
Market Swine: Jason Hirschfeld, York
4-H LIVESTOCK REMINDERS
Commercial breeding sheep require a breeding (not market) sheep tag in their ear.
All market livestock exhibitors are asked to please tell the check in crew on Sunday evening which animal(s) that you do NOT plan to sell in the auction. This could be your third sheep or pig that you could sell for the base bid or put into your family’s freezer (going to slaughter, but NOT in the sale), OR animal that you will be taking home, possibly going to Nebraska State Fair or AK-SAR-BEN. The fair board has decided that market animals that normally would sell, but are withdrawn from the sale and go home, may receive a premium for their animals at the auction. This excludes an exhibitor’s “third” pig or market sheep, as these animals are base price ONLY (no premium).
COUNTY HORSE SHOW REGISTRATION
County horse show pre-registration forms have been sent out and need to be returned to the office no later than July 11.
ATTENTION: 4-H CLUB LEADERS!
The fair board would like to remind you that clean-up responsibilities for the fair grounds are the same as in year’s past. Please have your area cleaned up before July 25. Contact Jerry Bose if you have questions.

The show will be divided into a small breed dog class (under 20 pounds) and a large breed dog class (over 20 pounds). A 4-H’er may enter only one dog, and a dog can only be shown by one
